Why there is more than one

Catholics, do you know?

"Restoring Catholic Tradition"

Who are we?

Una Voce – Springfield Area is affiliated with Una Voce America (UVA) which is affiliated with the Federation of Una Voce International (FIUV).

We are an organization of faithful Catholics founded under canon law and dedicated to restoring the practice of saintly virtues and the Traditional Catholic liturgy according to the 1962 liturgical books in accord with the wishes Pope Benedict XVI.

Read the document Motu Proprio "Summorum Pontificum" by Pope Benedict XVI regarding the Traditional Mass of 1962.

Our local Springfield area chapter serves the central and Southwestern part of the Springfield/Cape Girardeau diocese.

Our goals:

Our main purpose is to once again make available the Traditional Mass and Sacraments to our diocese according to the 1962 liturgical books. Since being erected in 1999, our Una Voce Springfield chapter has worked for a return to the Traditional Mass in our diocese under the guidelines of Motu Proprio 'Ecclesia Dei' by Pope John Paul II.

We welcome with great joy the release of Motu Proprio 'Summorum Pontificum' by Pope Benedict XVI, reaffirming the right for all Catholics to the Traditional Mass and Sacraments of 1962. This document effectively replaces 'Ecclesia Dei', and consequently reshapes our main purpose. We will fully support the effort for putting 'Summorum Pontificum' into practice, and look forward to the return of the Traditional Mass to our diocese!
